Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to
hubforcredit.com and to the emails we send.

What we collect

  • What you give us. If you take a quiz or subscribe, we collect your email
    address and first name, and the answers you chose. We do not ask for a phone number, a Social
    Security number, an account number or your income.
  • What the site records. Pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address,
    device and browser, and how you arrived here. We keep a one way hash of the IP address for rate
    limiting, not the address itself.
  • What advertising records. Google and its partners set cookies to serve and
    measure ads.

Why we collect it

To send the emails you asked for, to understand which articles are useful, and to sell
advertising. We do not sell your email address, and we do not pass it to lenders.

Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of
personalized advertising at

Your rights in California

Under the CCPA and CPRA you can ask us to tell you what personal information we have collected
about you, to delete it, to correct it, and to stop selling or sharing it. Sharing personal
information for cross context behavioral advertising counts as sharing under the CPRA, and the
advertising described above may qualify. To exercise any of these rights, including
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, write to
privacy@hubforcredit.com. We will not treat you differently for asking.

Email

Every email we send carries a one click unsubscribe link and our postal address. Unsubscribing
stops the emails; it does not delete data you previously gave us, which you can request separately.

How long we keep it

Contact data stays until you ask us to delete it or until three years after your last
interaction, whichever comes first. Analytics data is kept in aggregate.

Children

This site is not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

When this policy changes materially we will say so on this page and change the date below.

How we report

Every article is written by a named person and checked against primary sources: the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Reserve and issuer terms. When a number changes, we update the piece and say when.

How we make money

Some pages contain partner links that may earn us a commission. This never changes what we publish and costs you nothing. No lender pays for placement or for a better review, and nobody outside the newsroom sees a piece before it runs.

What we are not

Hub for Credit publishes independent information about credit cards, loans, and consumer finance. We are not a bank, a lender, or a card issuer, we do not extend credit, and we do not broker applications. Nothing here is personalized financial advice.
