Editorial policy

This page explains how our articles get written, who checks them, and how money moves through
this site. We publish it because a reader deserves to know those things before trusting anything
we say about their finances.

How an article is made

Every piece starts from a question a reader actually asks. We research it against primary
sources, write it, and check every factual claim before publishing. Numbers about rates come from
the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and are updated automatically, so a figure on the page is
never older than the collection date shown beside it.

What we will not publish

  • A rate, a fee or a credit limit without a source you can check.
  • A claim that any product guarantees approval, repairs credit quickly, or removes accurate
information from a credit report. None of those are possible.
  • A recommendation shaped by what pays us more.

How we make money

Two ways. Advertising, served through Google, which we do not control the content of. And
commissions on some links to financial products. A commission never changes a rating, a ranking or
whether a product appears, and no advertiser or issuer sees an article before it runs.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we fix it and say so in the article. If you find an error, write to
contact@hubforcredit.com and tell us what and where.

Product terms change

Rates, fees and benefits are set by the issuer, not by us, and they change without notice. Every
comparison on this site carries the date its terms were checked. Confirm on the issuer’s own site
before you apply.

How we report

Every article is written by a named person and checked against primary sources: the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Reserve and issuer terms. When a number changes, we update the piece and say when.

How we make money

Some pages contain partner links that may earn us a commission. This never changes what we publish and costs you nothing. No lender pays for placement or for a better review, and nobody outside the newsroom sees a piece before it runs.

What we are not

Hub for Credit publishes independent information about credit cards, loans, and consumer finance. We are not a bank, a lender, or a card issuer, we do not extend credit, and we do not broker applications. Nothing here is personalized financial advice.
